Welcome!

In December 1996, I left Göttingen to start a post-doctoral position at the Big Bear Solar Observatory. Since I started my diploma work at the Universitäts-Sternwarte Göttingen in 1989, I have been engaged in research covering various subjects of solar physics. My current research interests are image reconstruction, adaptive optics, two-dimensional spectroscopy, infrared observations, parallel computing, data visualization, temporal evolution of solar active regions, dynamics of small-scale magnetic fields and mini-filaments, differential solar rotation, and flares and filament eruptions. However, the focus of my research is still in high-resolution observations. In August 2001, I moved to New Jersey to start a new position as an Assistant Professor of Physics at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Slowly, I am finding some nice trails for mountain biking and hiking, however, if you have any suggestions please let me know!

Munter bleiben!
Carsten
